LS, The cursor only has to move in one dimension (horizontally across the screen), so there is no mouse to deal with - that function is on a knob - turn it and the cursor moves across the screen - click it to QSY.
There are 4 buttons along the bottom which provide 8 additional PF keys for the K3. Take a look at the photo shown at http://www.elecraft.com/K3/pics/K3%20and%20P3%20full%20spect%201024.JPG, and read the button legends to get a good idea of its capabilities.
