Well I installed the driver and added the patch, and now get

 glxinfo | grep direct
AllocateDmaBuffer fail
X Error of failed request:  BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
  Major opcode of failed request:  159 (GLX)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  3 (X_GLXCreateContext)
  Serial number of failed request:  25
  Current serial number in output stream:  26

Any idea what that means, or what I can do to fix it?
