Could you update to the version from:
'/ls6-ftp.cs.uni-dortmund.de:/pub/src/emacs/'
That should fix the problem, I think. To be sure, look at the code for
'rcp-run-real-handler' and see if it inhibits the rcp, efs and ange-ftp
handlers before calling the original handler.
Unless your does this, updating will get you far better behavior.
