>I know I "shouldn't" be doing this, but mine is over 240 MB.
And I *certainly* shouldn't be doing this either, but despite occasional pruning my Emailer 2.0v3 has grown to 570 MB. It is so problem-free that I leave it open all the time, simply putting it to sleep when I move my Powerbook. (At this size, it takes so long to open that quitting and reopening is not a good option.) Every week or so I do a full backup, but the reliability has lulled me into complacency. A fool's paradise, I'm sure, Emailer2 also is at the heart of our business. We run it on seven Macs and it receives our web orders and passes them to our invoicing system (using AppleScript to create invoices directly on a Filemaker-based system); is neatly controlled by another AppleScript to transfer catalog requests received via a mailto form on our website to a Filemaker mailing database, and interfaces again directly with Filemaker to allow us to e-mail customers their tracking numbers when an order ships. I am no kind of guru with any of these programs, but all of them are so accessible to the average business person that I've been able to hire a little consulting and then cobble together what I need to get the job done. BTW, I am not as cavalier with our "business" copies of Emailers as I am with my personal one. They are regularly trimmed, backed up and rebuilt. I periodically decide it's time to move to a "modern" email client and start researching a new one, but we have so much functionality with Emailer that I never have made the change, and maybe never will. Every year or so I tune into emailer-talk (thanks for the resource) for a couple of months and pick up enough tips and advice that I'm able to keep us tottering along with Emailer for another year or so - bless its programmers' hearts and long may it wave.
