Just my own experience, but ain't no way that's been true over the 4+ 
years I've been using version 2. I've never lost a database, nor seen 
mine become "unstable," and have a database that hasn't dipped much below 
100 mb in the last three years (and sometimes approaches 200 mb). And 
I've been running it on pretty old pre-G3 machines (though feeding it 
plenty of RAM, > 20 mb and more). And I'm not the best housekeeper -- I 
probably do a Typical Rebuild every two or three months, or even less 
frequently.

To tell the truth, sometimes I look at the hundreds of folders, sub 
folders, and sub-sub folders; the maze of Schedules and Accounts and 
Actions and AppleScripts; the Address Book with almost 4,000 entries . . 
. and I have to slap my forehead. Dang! This is the best database I've 
ever seen! This is the best email software I've ever seen! This is the 
best application I've ever used!

OK, so by now you know I've a fan. . . . Works for me.
