Except that it seems they emailed every member (it takes time to email a
couple hundred million folks!) to notify them. The way I hear it the pref 
was
accidently discovered after reading the email notification.  Some
folks were bound to receive notice before others....

Note that if you read the privacy poolicy, the preference does NOT
allow Yahoo to sell email addresses to other companies.  Also yahoo
only seems to send mail from its corporate domain, never from the
free mail domain. I still love em!
