It's really funny...but I just read through the Re: Spam! posts for the day...and Guess What? They were followed by three pieces of Spam itself! One for cannibus, one for a new mortgage (like who would really trust someone through email with their mortgage! ==:o ) and the other was for a Jayne who seems to like it nasty. What a grea time to be alive.
Anyway, legislation is NOT the answer (has it worked for your phone yet? I just heard today that there is a company that has compiled MANY cell phone numbers and is going to put it up for sale to marketing compaies!) EDUCATION!! That is the only thing that will work. The internet is international, what can legislation do for that? Nothing! If telemarking and spam wasn't profitable, THEY WOULDN'T DO IT!
