You most certainly did ward off a potential dire problem. I found this out and ran around fixing computers with 9.04 on them, but there was one I did not catch in time. The system folder lost it's blessing and down came the whole system with a blinking ?. Fortunately I had her backed up before that. Apple made light of this and simply told everyone to update to 9.1.
