While you are connected to the worldnet service, you must use the worldnet SMTP server. I am sure Adelphia won't allow you to using their smtp server without first authenticating. You can try collecting you Adelphia email right before trying to send, and see if they support POP Auth, but more and more ISPs are doing away with that and are allowing only SMTP Auth (if any kind of external authentication at all).
