Greetings all.
I'm new to this list, but I've used [EMAIL PROTECTED] since shortly after it
came out (mostly 2.0v3). I recently encouraged a friend to download v.
1.3 (and the 1.4 updater) to handle her AOL and web-account (POP3)
e-mail. The problem is, she is using AOL for WWWeb access, and has a
Global Village Teleport modem (56k V.90 Standard). Although her AOL
installation has a suitable modem driver, Emailer doesn't, and so her
attempts to dial AOL fail.
I'm planning to download the model CCL from Global Village's support
site, but can someone tell me in advance if this will fix the problem?
Better yet, what's the best solution to having Emailer access all her
accounts if this one won't work or isn't optimal? Having her switch to a
'real' ISP isn't a solution, nor is changing modems or getting DSL. Now
that she's seen the ability of Emailer to handle her various accounts,
she's really excited about it, but frustrated that it won't work.
Also, the updater to version 1.4 won't work - it doesn't seem to
recognize her v 1.3 installation, but that's a minor problem.
Thanks in advance for any help.
