Dear friends-
I have been having computer problems lately and after several crashes took it into a
shop for service. They put OS 9.2.2 on for me, an upgrade from 8.6. But I still had
more crashes and problems causing me to reinstall some of my latest software such as
Adobe Illustrator 7.0, Adobe Photoshop 4.0, Adobe InDesign 1.0 and I have been trying
to bring over needed Extensions etc. from the Previous System Folder as the need
occurs.
But two days ago I had to run my Norton SystemWorks 2.0 and it showed that all my
files had bad modification dates and so I used the Fix All command and they were
supposedly fixed. However yesterday I noticed all my file dates now show Dec. 31,
2039 and new files are dated as if we are in a new year 2040. You can see this in my
email Header date line.
And to make matters worse I cannot use Norton SystemWorks for part way through there
is an error message saying there is a memory problem and Norton cannot finish the
examination.

I have always had a date problem with Claris when the turn of the century came around
but this is the first time I have had the entire HD show a problem.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? I have a new battery if that would help.

thx for any help,
doug

What they desperately need is to know how to live their lives
they need to know who they are, to what purpose they exist,
and how they should act towards one another; and, once they
know the answers to these questions they need to be helped to
gradually apply these answers to everyday behavior. It is to the
solution of this basic problem of mankind that the greater part of
all our energy and resources should be directed....
