A better method than "Forward" is "Redirect". If you redirect the mail, the information about who sent it, and when, travels with the mail in a way that allows the mail to be filed properly - by date and sender - in the database. There is a script available that is supposed to be able to redirect large numbers of messages, if that's necessary.
