It's been a couple of years since I did it, but I was able to successfully connect several times with a calling card and the seemingly endless string of digits. The only difference between dialing manually and letting the computer do it is that, when dialing manually, you might pause while waiting for a dial tone or automated instructions. What I did was dial the whole thing manually, noting any spots where I needed to pause to wait for the telephone process to do its thing, until I got through all the dialing and heard my ISP's modem tones. In configuring the Network preference pane (in OS X) or Remote Access (is that where you put the numbers in OS 9?), I added a comma wherever I needed the computer to pause during the dialing process. With the pauses in the correct places (use consecutive commas for long pauses) the computer's dialing process always worked properly, and I got my connection. ---Jay ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
