This holds true for just about anything that uses the GURL apple event (the one that causes URL and mail addresses to do something when clicked in another application). The other trick that usually works is to simply highlight the item before clicking it. It is a highly recommended trick to surround URLs in emails with them as well... that way line breaks that are jammed into them during the emailing process won't cause the URL to break. The mac will simply process everything between the chevrons as a single entity (and since URLs inherently don't allow for line breaks, they are either stripped out, or ignored, thus restoring the URL to a usable state). This trick also works for much of the Windows world. Although a few web mail systems will take anything encased in a chevron and try to turn it into HTML and ignore it when it fails. But I consider this to be a broken action on the part of the web mail systems, so I've never worried myself about it (why cause 99% of the world to jump thru hoops, just so the 1% can not have to complain to their ISP to fix the broken web mail system). -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
