Verizon's mail admins don't seem to have a clue. I just avoid using their email. In fact, I'm not even sure what my verizon email address is... not because of lack of use, but because when I check it (which I do once a day just to be sure I get any notices from them), I get email addressed to about a half a dozen OTHER email addresses! So for some reason, they linked a bunch of aliases to my account that I never asked for. Of course, every last one of the emails I get are spam (I get probably 10-15 spams on that account each day... granted that is low for an email account... but for an account that I have never told ANYONE the address?!?) > All this for $45/mo. You are still getting ripped off then. I pay $29 after my $5 bundle discount (I have one of their "freedom" packages for my phone service). And I have to call them to see if I can get my speed boosted to the 3 Mbs download they are offering to new customers. But just wait until Verizon finishes rolling out fiber to the curb! Their FIOS pricing is UNREAL... $40/mn for 5 Mbs down, 2 Mbs up, $50 for 15 Mbs down, 2 up!!! (and $200 for 30 Mbs down, 5 up... I assume at that price jump they are aiming that service solely at business use). Of course, that all assumes they have the bandwidth at the head end to support that. Its all fine to give me 15 Mbs download from the CO to my house, but if the CO is sitting on a T1 with only 1.5 Mbs, then the 15 isn't going to do any good (although they are also planning on putting TV service over the same line, so who knows what the final data thruput will really be) But all that doesn't negate your original statement that Verizon is Ma Bell's evil spawn. Their wireless is currently under a class action lawsuit as well. It seems they are selling Motorola phones that are advertised as having certain features. The phone has the ability, and every other carrier sells the phone as is... Verizon hacks their phones and disables the abilities unless you pay extra for them! Verizon used to suck... then they realized everyone hated them, and they cleaned up their act and got really good and really competitive... then they grew and took over a large chunk of the east coast... and went back to sucking and people hate them again. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
