Following a hard disk crash and duplicate restoration, Emailer won't run. System specifics: Titanium PowerBook, 1 Ghz, running 10.3.6, Emailer v. 2.3 on a ADSL connection to pick up mail from an AOL account. I have a Mail Database of 94 MB and a Mail Index of 14 MB.
When I ran Disk First Aid, it identified but could not repair the following problems: Invalid Sibling link Invalid B-Tree header Invalid Map Node Lots of orphaned indirect nodes Invalid directory item count The good news is that I had backed up to a Firewire external HD using Retrospect Express's duplicate function earlier in the week. The bad news is that I'm still recovering files, and Emailer v. 2.3 won't run. When I tried to Open Emailer after restoring it to the internal HD (I wiped the HD clean and started again), the message I got was: The Claris Emailer Preferences file is either damaged or open in another application. You may only run one copy of Claris Emailer at a time. If there is no other copy running, delete your preferences le. No other copy was running, so I deleted the CE preference file, and tried to Open Emailer again. This time the message I received was: Claris Emailer could not open the required file "Connections" because an unknown error (-5000) occurred. Press OK to quit. I'm stuck. I've been amazed over the years at the depth of list members' knowledge about Emailer and willingness to assist. Anybody have any suggestions?
