That would be MUCH MUCH harder then it seems. There are whole chunks of Emailer that are provided by 3rd parties in the form of precompiled libraries. Each of those would need to also be brought up to date (good luck finding anyone from RadioMail much less the source code for their interface!), or removed entirely. And then you just have the basic Emailer code to deal with (and remember, since you didn't write it, you will have to first figure out the train of thought the programmers used and where things are, and why they are there). And of course, then there are all the permission issues with having the rights to port Emailer (Apple isn't likely to give them to you, because they just don't want to talk about Emailer, and AOL isn't likely to give them to you, and then you have to deal with all the parts that belong to people or groups that don't exist any more, so you would have to track down the legal owners of the code, and secure new rights from them). A few of us have looked into this over the years, and it has turned out to be one heck of a difficult task to accomplish (and so far, all of us have given up on the quest). No, it would likely end up being easier to simply rewrite from scratch a cocoa email client that mimics Emailer's abilities then it would be to port Emailer itself. I've actually thought about doing this myself a few times... but alas, not enough spare time to spend on a project that has basically zero available market (ie: there will never be a noticable return on my invested time). -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
