I am glad I didn't actually have to get rid of the copy on my Imac, Sheaffe, because I usually use that copy in conjunction with my scanner which is running on OSX. But the gist of the advice - not to have 2 copies running concurrently while connected - was the answer. It worked! I hope I can remember to do this next time - I will keep your posts!
