Hey everybody, I've been a Emailer user since about 2000. I've been primarily a lurker on this list, though occasionally I've posted a few questions and even answered a few.
Emailer is the _only_ Classic program I'm using now. With a database of over 390 mbs, and probably over 100,000 messages in it's various folders, I've been extremely reluctant to move to Mail or Entourage, or for that matter, writing my own in 4D. Two questions here. 1. I'm currently using Panther, moving to Tiger next month. If I'm to go to Mail or Entourage, what's the consensus of the still remaining Emailers here? 2. I'm a 4D developer, and thankfully, 4D has a simple email client, entirely written in 4D. It's a sample database, so it's something I can tweak and play with. However, I'm wondering if there are any rules regarding reading the Emailer database. I know that there's a Filemaker based Emailer archiving program, but I don't know if someone's already done the same with 4D. So, is there something special I need to know to read the datafile, should I go the 4D route? All opinions are quite welcome. Thanks, everybody. Eric C.
