"Why can't the English teach their children how to speak? Norwegians learn Norwegian; the Greeks are taught their Greek." - 'Enry 'Iggins, lamenting
Chris's "then" for "than" my eye usually skips over in reading, and if I do notice it, I assume it is one of those "muscle memory" typographical errors which creep in when one thinks faster than one types. Spoken rapidly and not thought about when spoken, too, there is not a huge vowel difference between the "e" and the "a" in standard American English. Spell checkers do nothing for a correctly spelled incorrect word, so one has carefully to proof read, which one typically doesn't do to emails! Speaking of FTP sites, however, Panic Software has released its outstanding, formerly commercial programs as freeware: Transmit 1.7 for FTP and Audion for sound, MP3, recording, etc. If anyone is interested, one should check out their website: www.panic.com. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
