I print from Classic all the time. Of course, I'm printing to a laser printer over the network, not to a USB Epson printer. IIRC, I could not print either in the beginning because I hadn't actually setup the printer in Classic. I don't recall if I rebooted into OS 9 and setup the printer, of if I just started Emailer, and then with it in the foreground, went to the Apple menu, to the Chooser and setup the printer.
