As long as I was on Earthlink dial up I never had to use smtpauth but when I upgraded to earthlink DSL service, smtp without auth would not work so I had to download and use Chris' revised Emailer. It has worked just fine with 10.3.9 but I have not upgraded to 10.4.x so I can't attest to that combination. Their DSL may be different in different locations. S.
