Greetings, all. I'm absolutely mystified that some of my fellow listmates (Roger, Hib and S.) are able to post their outgoing mail without using smtpauth for Earthlink. I'm not sure of the exact date, but at some point, I was completely unable to send out email via Earthlink. I was able to install and configure Baton Mail so that I can get my outgoing email out, most of the time and maybe not always on the first try, but I can continue to use Claris Emailer. Am I to understand that my experience is unique?
I'm using my Powerbook 540c (upgraded with the PPC processor) with OS 8.1. I'm accessing Earthlink via dialup, not DSL and using the "smtpauth" server to get my email out. I'm using the unhacked version of Emailer 2.0v3 but with Baton Mail. I'm wondering if the fact that I'm using one of my secondary accounts with Earthlink might have something to do with all this. Thanks in advance for any help.
