I've seen this but only where the length of the filename exceeds the 32 character limit imposed by Classic. >2. I close down Classic frequently to avoid problems like this. It's no big deal because it closes instantly and takes only a few seconds to relaunch on my G4 2x1GHz tower. Even on my iBook 600MHz the waiting time is bearable. I've ignored your remaining points as they've already been addressed.
