Jay, Thanks for the hint. I often use a new email message to paste in text from an app that doesn't have a spell checker and use the Mac system spell checker to do the checking. I then copy and paste the corrected text into the original document. Since my email app is always open, this is quick and easy. I have been reaching for the mouse to not save the checked text but after seeing your comment I found that a cmd d will work just fine in my email client. Take care, S.
