Maybe they changed it, but ISTR when I looked, there was a "Does it
work on Intel" question and response along the lines of "A Universal
Binary version is on its way".
So yes, I guess that doesn't say that it does NOT work, but
everything else I've seen when asked if it works on Intel would say
"It is not yet UB, but it does work under Rosetta". So the fact that
Alsoft made no mention of functioning under Rosetta when saying they
were working on a UB version, would indicate to me that it did not work.
That of course combined with the fact that just launching the app
caused it to return errors and crash and was never able to even get
as far as trying to run, kind of became a confirmation that it wasn't
going to work on Intel. :-)
