Thanks to you Bill I've discovered what the scroll does in the menu 
bar.When I
pressed Go to CE home page it brought it up a Netscape Email blank!
When I pressed 'About the Applescript menu' it brought up a Hewlett 
Packard
advertisement for a touch screen.  When I pressed 'Register CE' it 
brought up
my Desktop window.  Same when i pressed "Speak Unread Mail' !  Ah well!
