I, also, was in love with Claris Emailer. For years. From Mac Performa to iMac to iBook. But this year when I went to Mac Book, system 10, it was no longer possible. I ended up using Apple's "Mail" program, which came with the computer. I got used to it: it's ok for me now.

Like Emailer, I can keep lots of stuff in my IN box, as long as I want it there. I can sort it by sender, title, date. I can move things into titled files, or back into the IN box. I can use the DRAFTS file as a general personal-place-to-keep-notes, besides actual drafts not yet sent.

I can see what is in my Trash or Sent files.

Like Emailer, (unfortunately), I cannot make hierarchical files -- folders within folder: I would like to do that.

I haven't made use of some of the features of Mail ("make note", calendar notes).
To my surprise, I have almost forgotten what Claris did better!

NOW, if I could just figure out how to open my old Claris Emailer (Lite) files (still on the iMac at the back of my desk) on my OSX MacBook, short of emailing them one by one (for centuries?) from my iMac to me now, via Mail. Any of you fine Email lovers know how to do that?

Thanks!
Lynn in Port Townsend WA

PS for the grand prize (do you like ginger snaps?) how can I open my Apple Works 6 files, transfered over to the MacBook OSX, from my iMac OS9, but unopenable? I think I can open one at a time by changing it to a "dot doc", but I'm wanting a way to be able to open them ALL. Smell those ginger snaps.....
