My impression is that what was called HEAD is now called TRUNK. I made some
changes to HEAD that were not incorporated into the latest release
(concerning named parameters). Are they now in TRUNK? If I continue working
in the directory tree that I created from HEAD and commit the changes, will
they now automagically be put into TRUNK?

emcsh.cc is coming from emc1, it should have a note saying "based on
works by Will Shackleford and Fred Proctor"
they are the original authors afaik.
If you're commiting to TRUNK, and think this an improvement, then you
can safely go ahead and commit.
The beauty with CVS is, that if it breaks, we can always go back.
And we shouldn't be very scared of breaking TRUNK (I don't encourage
it though :D)
