Les is exactly correct - I put those comments in there to say "excuse
me, but since I don't know a nicer way to say this part, I'm going to
turn off my tact filter and be extremely blunt, please don't take offense".

I was in no way being critical of your explanation - I was warning
readers that my own statements about training wheels were likely to
ruffle a few feathers.
