See my footnote on both points :-)

There's only 19 gif files at present, so making the necessary changes is 
no more onerous than what I suggest for the eps files.

As a matter of personal prejudice, I think svg is better suited for 
vector graphics exchange than eps. We aren't exploiting the "vector" 
nature of the images in production, anyway.

The eps files were just a good intermediary step up from the dxf files 
created by EasyCAD, and those dxf files are nothing to write home about 
(see the README! I've been looking into that problem separately.)
