I apologize. I lost track of the branch I was working on. This "just worked" on my local test branch which has a modified Submakefile left over from previous tests. Sorry.
I don't think the changes to Submakefile required will be a problem but I'm need to check that they haven't screwed up anything else. Two steps forward, one step back.
