I looked into it, and gave up. I was hoping to use "slot number" to choose the carousel slot and "tool number" to choose the tool offsets. So, the idea was that tools 1 and 2 could both be in slot 1 (gang tooling) and a lathe toolchanger would align carousel slot 1 for either tool, but G43 would load the tool table offsets for the correct tool. However, it turns out that tools can't share slots, because the slots are the array index. it would need a change to the tooltable format to allow completely free allocation of slot numbers and tool numbers, and that in turn would reduce the number of tools because the tooltable size is limited by NML message size. I think this change could be made transparent, so there would be no change to the actual tool file format, though. -- atp The idea that there is no such thing as objective truth is, quite simply, wrong. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
