Gentle persons: Things are quiet on the medical front so I thought I'd try to catch up on rebranding. I've posted several issues to the bug-tracker regarding minor items in the 2.5 distribution.
Next, I thought I'd tackle the "Installing-LinuxCNC" page on the wiki, which badly needs attention. Remember, I created this page on the fly in January by copying over and retitling the "Installing-EMC2" page to show our good faith in responding to the brand challenge but as I said at the time, I didn't edit the content of the page because it wasn't clear to me what needed to be done. To my surprise, I find that several edits have since been made to the superseded "Installing-EMC2" page. In particular, the name and location of the install scripts were changed from ".../emc2-install.sh" to ".../install-scripts/linuxcnc-install.sh" on this page. This is not correct because it is not in keeping with the EMC2 context. I believe "Installing-EMC2" should be retained solely as historical information for folks interested in EMC2.4.6 and earlier. At the same time, the old install scripts are still referenced on "Installing-LinuxCNC" so it isn't correct yet either. Please don't edit "Installing-EMC2" or other such deprecated, perhaps even orphaned, pages. I know it is easy to do if you have bookmarked the old pages or if you just type in their addresses out of habit. I will try to do a better job of marking such pages, starting with the language I'm adding to the top of "Installing-EMC2". I will work this evening on fixing up "Installing-LinuxCNC" to the best of my knowledge of the way things are now.
