Thanks for the report. How this is supposed to work is if all the available axis aren't homed then the mode button is unavailable. This is because just about every thing in mdi and auto mode require the machine to be homed. If you press home-all button after all axes are homed, gscreen should automatically come out of 'home mode' back to manual and all the buttons should be available. How many axes are you using? Are you homing individually or all-home? If all-home does it pop out of homing mode (or are you popping out of homing mode before homing is finished) One way to get around the mode button being insensitive, is to toggle graphics mode and back - there is a bug that desensitizes the mode button when it shouldn't. Some of these conditions can come because of race conditions - so it works fine for me but not for someone else - I will fix these as they come up.
