EBo, reading between the lines, so to speak, I wonder if you are running into the same problem I complained about some time ago. Naively starting the example sim->axis with the default gcode file immediately leads to a "Program exceeds machine limits" error. The machine has to be touched off on the Z axis first. As Seb pointed out to me then, the gcode file says as much right up front. If this is not your problem, stop reading now. <kvetch> I believe the examples we provide with the distribution should all run to completion "out of the box" so prospective users can see what LinuxCNC is about rather than test what they know about CNC machining and about interpreting LinuxCNC error messages.
