this is the way I understood the gist of the paper, and I found that a quite 
interesting summary

not being a native speaker: can you fill me in what you consider "dismissive" 
about that?

what I'd be interested in: was that a consequence of the capability to generate 
more continuous frequencies or a consequence of less jitter (which was the 
point in the original question)?
