Thanks for the feedback. From your pastebin, it appears the card is being found, but it is failing at the start of the FPGA configuration. It looks like you must have a valid firmware file or you wouldn't be getting as far as you are. FYI, I haven't installed firmware via packages...I just download the zip files from Mesa's website and manually drop the files into /lib/firmware/hm2/... > browsing the code, the relevant error message seems to come from > src/hal/drivers/mesa-hostmot2/hm2_pci.c where around line 446 it > says " // Note that if we see DONE at the start of programming, > it's most // likely due to an attempt to access the FPGA at the > wrong I/O // location. I haven't yet started crawling through the PLX data sheets, but the reported resources in your pastebin are different from what I would expect based on the 3x20man.pdf file from Mesa. Regions 0-2 are all three reporting larger than they should be in your pastebin, assuming the data in the 3x20man file is correct. As to the I/O layout being identical to the 5i22, it seems reasonable the way the code is written, but without crawling the data sheets (and maybe access to the board schematics) I'm not sure I can really validate this one way or another. Peter: Are the 5i22 and 3x20 boards identical from an I/O and FPGA programming point of view? Should the hm2_pci driver from LinuxCNC 2.5 talk properly to the 3x20? - -- Charles Steinkuehler char...@steinkuehler.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAlDM8ygACgkQLywbqEHdNFwDxwCdF9T9CfVVBDezbq0exYvlbk9U F/AAnRwRjOQhaxa3peIKPivJ76j02nOB =czeK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LogMeIn Rescue: Anywhere, Anytime Remote support for IT.
