I am essentially out of loop (I'm in the hospital cafeteria at the moment) as we struggle to to halt my wife's precipitous decline but I can't stop myself responding to this. I know I have archived one or more EMC tar files at home, probably labelled by me as 'emc1' to keep things straight. As far as I know, they represent the totality of code turned over by Fred. I can probably locate any relevant NIST report or paper if it was ever available in PDF (or Postscript).
I have mostly supportive thoughts triggered by Matt's original post but am in no position to compose them at the moment. Certainly I've posted in the past about NIST and public domain code and the state of EMC2 copyright and license statements as captured in the codebase. If the situation here improves, I'll be able to contribute to the Wichita discussion via emails assuming y'all post interim results (including those pix of the magic marker work!). If not, I'll eagerly await the results. Good luck.
