Point taken.

I'm already doing most of the "jog-while-paused" hard stuff in FPGA
hardware written in VHDL, so it seems a bit odd to me that it would be
considered hard in the software world where you have fancy debuggers,
short edit-compile-test loops, etc.

...but then I wouldn't want to touch trying to modify any of the GUI
front-ends, with the possible exception of keystick.

Different worlds...  :)
