Am I correct in thinking that this is your stone turning lathe? > When i use the the motor as spindle it become very hot and quickly just after > few minute and it stop alone like it loose all steps it's a 21Nm torque This is slightly unusual, as normally the current (and hence heat generated) in a stepper motor reduces with speed. It might be necessary to reduce the current setting of the driver, but a cooling fan ought to help. I would also be tempted to try finned heat-sinks attached to the motor. However, are you sure that it is the motor that is getting too hot? How hot does it get? Steppers can be too hot to touch and still be within their rated temperature range. I would be more suspicious that the drive is over-heating and shutting down. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Introducing Performance Central, a new site from SourceForge and AppDynamics.
