Gentlemen, One brand of control allows 999% feed override. This is excessive I know but needs to be presented. As previously expressed most people use the override during setup to find what feeds and speeds work best for given cutting situations. Most of the time the program is pretty close and large override is not necessary. Always it is possible to increase the feed rate to the point the machine cannot blend and the motion is 'stilted'. This is expected and is not a problem with any operator I know. If the 'stilting' is a result of too much override no matter the cause then so be it - it is not a problem. If, however, the operator learns to increase the feed and the problem goes away then that seems to be a positive for the operator and machine. It will be an automatic response once learned. Said another way, if the 'stilting' is caused by the control unable to repath when the feed over ride is turned up then when the feed rate is changed the path calculations are for the new feed rate and should allow smooth motion. thanks Stuart
