I can see what you are saying but I disagree.
leaving them blank can cause them to guess.
stuff like velocity in inches per second
and acceleration in inches per sec. per sec.
is something most people are not going to 
have a feel for what they should start with.

Better to have reasonable defaults.
and maybe a help screen...
