There is no harm in asking for help or information. There should be no 
harm in you posting pictures and wiring diagrams of your machine while 
you look for help. It's just a little frustrating to try to figure out 
what hal component you need without knowing what hardware and wiring you 
have.

Another thing that comes to mind, a while back there was a person on 
this list, that ran a Google Hangout while working on his machine, which 
is a step closer to having someone on-site to help.
