at_pid is a completely different component.

The manual page for at_pid lists the gains as parameters, which is
something that possibly ought to be changed (they are actually IO
pins). The manpage for at_pid says that no initial values are needed,
so arguably the gains in that case should be pure outputs to make them
easy to display to the user.

Just to reiterate the initial point, the current situation is that IO
pins can not be directly connected to any GUI elements, either for
display or setting.

Also, to clarify, there is absolutely no problem viewing the current
value of an input pin.
