I am sure there is...I like the point that Chris brought with the re-map
option. I also realize that he brought it up in his initial post but I just
felt that the majority of users are not at that point where we have to worry
about more than 99 tools on a lathe.

 I can see that if Linuxcnc has to be re-worked to handle more than one page
for different kinds of off-sets that it will pay to make sure it is done
with thought and flexibility.

There is an argument for having the tool number refer to a tool, not a slot
in the carousel of a specific machine. (espcially if using VDI mounting, for
example)
