I talked to the other GentooCNC guy and we have plans to add it to the layman overlay list, but we are not even close to being ready yet. So, in the meantime downloading and adding it to the OVERLAY variable in make.conf is the way we do things. There is no reason to modify installed.xml, just add it to the OVELAY variable. As mentioned, we plan to add it to layman when it is a bit more stable.
