Greets everybody; I'm still trying to bring this new mill to life, but I can't test any MDI functions because axis A is not homed, its not even hooked up, but I like the idea of just setting it on the table and plugging it in when I need it without having to load a different configuration. It doesn't even have a home switch on it. On the toy mill its just a 4th axis to manually home, whether its actually hooked up is immaterial
But the gui now has only a "home all" button since I have the first 3 axis equipt with home switches now, all HOME_IS_SHARED = true, which I have working well now for XYZ. Is there a way to setp the 'A' so its homed forever, or to coax axis into displaying a separate button to home A wherever its at? The latter, showing 2 home buttons, would be 1000x handier as I use it that way on the small mill, allowing me to drive to a starting angle that I often gauge with a level to establish the zero point and home it there for other angles, such as sharpening a tool. Ahh, found a workaround. Old memories finally came up for air. Highlighting the A dot, and pressing the home key still works. So that is a workaround, on to my testing MDI stuffs now. Thanks all.
