sigh...

If someone implemented a tool table which links (or is part of a
relational database) from which you can scan a barcode on a fixture and
have it bring up the g-code to machine the part and automatically query
the tool info to order up the tools necessary for the job to complete --
all complete with more scanning to verify that the assembled tools are
sufficient for the job, THEN yes I was apparently asleep enough to have
missed it...

Andy, I remember you mentioning that you had a prototype of something.
I did not have the time then, nor frankly do I probably have the time
now, to review it (unless it solves a critical need I have in front of
me). Some of what is being discussed might just do that and demand a
slice of my immediate attention. I will also point out that I said
before and will again that I will not have time to implement or maintain
this myself and will use whatever is provided as long as it is stable.
I have preferences for certain things and not for others because I have
been shot in the foot by some of these dependencies. My comment was
intended to encourage Sarah and others to hack a demo together so we can
compare. My intent was NOT to piss you or anyone else off. If I had
offended, please accept my apology. While I come from a culture in
which insults are allowed, and honesty/frankness are prised, I really
meant no offence.

At this point I am going to head home to work on the next must do
thing, sleep, and then back to work.
