I haven't used it in a while, and not in hal but does the ini files 
DEBUG= statement no longer work?

The reason it fell out of use here was that it didn't elicit the expected 
response, and the docs now contain no data as to how to use it, when I 
open the docs and go to page 300, at 6.2.2.1, the explanation of the 
debug statement has been reduced to one sentence referring to a src file 
that isn't linked. That, if you don't have the srcs installed, is rather 
less than usefull. The full description, bit by bit would be at least a 
full page since its a 32 bit value? There have been times when I could 
have used it in the last year.
